The City of Cleveland has had their share of sports heartbreaks. The Drive, The Fumble, and now The Meltdown. All three of these sporting events have put a deep hole in the Heart of Cleveland Sports. I think though out of all of them though the latest one The Meltdown could hurt the most. It seems the Sports Gods must have something against the City of Cleveland. Before The Meltdown everything was going right for Cleveland when it came to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They had their own, Lebron James leading them and the NBA Championship looked within reach this year. What happen? Simply put The Meltdown!
Cleveland has had the best regular season record the last two years, but have nothing to show for it. The blame can be pass to a lot of people, but it starts with the guys on the court. Yeah, you can blame the coach and his rotations and who he played, but you still must perform. Coach Mike Brown might not be around next year, but the bottom line is the players quit on their coach and the fans. The fans who supported them all season long were let down by the players they cheered for and supported.
The Meltdown as I call it took place with 2 minutes left in the game. The Cavaliers were down, but they choose not to foul a team that struggled at the line all night long. Instead they preferred to do nothing in reality let The Meltdown continue. Cleveland fans deserved better than this. At least give an effort for the whole game and that includes the last two minutes of the game. Lebron James at the end did not give much effort at all either which is a shock. James tells people he is about winning, but after watching Game 5 and Game 6 I am starting to wonder.
Cleveland sports fans deserve better than what they got this season. Now Lebron James will wait to make his decision if he wants to stay or go. Either way it seems the Sports Gods have something against Cleveland. The Meltdown was the final evidence for me.

Does Anyone Care About The WNBA?
When the WNBA was introduced I thought it would take some time for it to catch on. The WNBA was formed in 1996 and started playing in 1997. It seemed like it would work out great for the NBA something to keep basketball fans busy during the late spring and early summer. It has done none of that. I have talked to very few people who actually receive any games on television or even attend games in their area. It seems no one really cares about the WNBA. I cannot imagine the NBA is making any money on it, but you never know.
With the talent level that is in the WNBA you would think that more people would watch the WNBA or at least care about. Names like Katie Smith, Candice Parker, and Diana Taurasi you would think the game is in good hands. I guess in the United States we are just not ready to embrace the WNBA. I wonder when we will. I will start posting scores from the WNBA as here at Sports Blogging Network as we have not done our part to promote the game. Check out what they have to offer at WNBA.

Tim Tebow Cash Money Maker For NFL!
We might not know if Tim Tebow is going to make it as an NFL quarterback, but the one thing we do know is he is an hot commodity. Tebow's jersey was No.1 in sales for the month of April. The Broncos as a team was rated 10th in March, but soar to No.1 in sales thanks to Tim Tebow's No.15 jersey sales. April's No.2 seller is Donovan McNabb's new Washington Redskins jersey. Sam Bradford and Ndamukong Suh both cracked the top 10 in April.
Tim Tebow may never play a down in a regular season game, but you cannot doubt the following that he has. The Denver Broncos and the NFL are making the most out of it and you cannot blame them. I am sure they probably already knew what drawing power he had before he entered the NFL. Like Tebow or not you cannot argue the drawing power this young man seems to have across the nation.

What's Next For Boston's David Ortiz?
The Boston Red Sox really do not have many options when it comes to David Ortiz. Yes, they could cut him, but really how does that help them. They could seek a trade, but can't see any team really offering anything for Ortiz right now. He is not hitting the baseball very well so no one will give you anything for him at all. Last the Red Sox could hope that hep plays himself through it. The last option is probably what the Boston Red Sox will have to do.
David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox best option is to see if he can get out of the funk himself. The only way to do that is put him in the lineup and let him hit his way out of it. What happens if he cannot though? If he can't them the Red Sox may have to make a drastic move such as just waive him. At least that way they can move on and try to get better without him. First though I would play him for a couple of months and see if he can get back on track. If he cannot then time to cut your losses.
Dwight Howard Soars In Magics Rout Of Hawks
In the Charlotte series Dwight Howard could not stay on the floor long enough to make an impact. The Atlanta Hawks probably wish Howard would have stayed home last night as he help lead the Magic to a 114-71 beatdown of the Atlanta Hawks. Howard had 21 points and 12 rebounds and was his normal dominate self in the paint. When Dwight Howard plays like he did last night the Magic is very tough to beat.
Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson also had good games for the Magic as well. Both players have been a very important part of the Magic success in the playoffs. The Atlanta Hawks have struggled all year against the Magic as they just do not match up well with them. In a half-court set they cannot compete with the Magic. Game 2 is Thursday and it will tell you a lot about both teams and where their mindset really is. Should be very interesting.

Bulls Looking For Coach After Vinny Del Negro Fired
After Vinny Del Negro got into it with the front office everyone knew he was gone. The Bulls just prolonged it to make it look good. In the end the Bulls were never really going to keep him and that is a shame. I thought he did a good job of getting the Bulls into the playoffs, but not many Bulls players came out publicly saying they wanted him to stay. Many times that is one thing that can save a coaches job. Players do have some pull, but apparently they did not all like Del Negro.
Now the Bulls are in search of a coach and many names are out there right now. Avery Johnson, Bryon Scott just too name a few. I hope the Bulls take their time and get a coach that fits what they are looking for. They will need one soon as they have the NBA Draft coming up shortly and will want to have someone in place before that it would seem. I guess we will see shortly who it will be. We know it won't be Vinny Del Negro coaching the Bulls this season.

Dolphins Draft 101
In this installment of After The Draft Thoughts we will take a look at the Miami Dolphins and see if they have done enough to get back into the playoffs. One of the biggest problems the Dolphins had was not a go to guy on offense and they have solved that problem. The Dolphins traded Ted Ginn Jr away and also traded for Brandon Marshall. Now they have a go to wide receiver that is very talented and will make plays for them. This was something they were lacking last year. Let's take a look at their draft picks as well.
1 28 (28) Jared Odrick DT 6-5 296 Penn St.
2 8 (40) Koa Misi OLB 6-3 263 Utah
3 9 (73) John Jerry OL 6-5 350 Mississippi
4 21 (119) A.J. Edds LB 6-4 244 Iowa
5 14 (145) Nolan Carroll DB 6-1 202 Maryland
5 32 (163) Reshad Jones S 6-2 215 Georgia
7 5 (212) Chris McCoy DL 6-4 252 Middle Tennessee St.
7 45 (252) Austin Spitler LB 6-3 234
The Dolphins went mostly defense and got some very good players. Jared Odrick out of Penn State has a real good shot of starting and making an impact as a rookie. Koa Misi out of Utah an outside linebacker can also make an impact. Reshad Jones and Nolan Carroll can also make an impact maybe not right away though. Do not discount Iowa's A.J. Edds either as a possible player in the future. The Dolphins drafted well and got some key players that will help them. Trading for Brandon Marshall though was the key and he will make an instant impact.

Lane Kiffin Tells Tennessee I'm A Trojan Now!

After all the candidates that USC wanted did not want the job they turned to an old friend and hired Lane Kiffin as the next head coach of the USC Trojans. Kiffin coached under Pete Carroll so he knows the system and how things work at USC. All in all a good safe hire for the Trojans who wanted a name that people would recognize and knew a little bit about the program.
For Tennessee Vol fans they have to feel like they just got kicked in the stomach. After hiring Lane Kiffin they thought they had the coach they wanted. He said all the things they wanted to hear and was turning the program around only to leave when something better came a long. I guess in the end though maybe Tennessee is the real winner here. They can hire a coach who actually wants to be there and build the program. Kiffin in my opinion just used Tennessee as a stepping stone to other jobs and probably would have left anyways. If your a Vol fan do not be too disappointed as it probably will work out better for you anyways.

Dallas Cowboys Clinch NFC East, NFL Scores
The Dallas Cowboys remember last year when the Philadelphia Eagles took them out to the woodshed last year. This time around it was much different as the Dallas Cowboys shutout the Eagles by a score of 24-0. The Cowboys dominated the Eagles in every phase of the game and also won the NFC East as well with the win. These two teams will play again as they meet in the first round of the NFL Playoffs. It will be interesting to see if the Eagles can bounce back which I am sure they will.

Tiger Woods Will Never Be The Same

Tiger Woods will probably want to forget the year 2009 as it was not one of his best especially towards the end. Many people wonder what will become of Tiger Woods when he returns. The mystique of Tiger Woods will be gone. He will no longer be placed above everyone else as people found out he is human just like everyone else. At one point people had him heads above everyone else, but that will no longer be the case anymore. Tiger Woods has a lot of damage control to do before he heads back to the public limelight.
Woods has plenty to take care of before he ever hits a golf course. He is probably getting a divorce and he has his kids to think about. Woods has so many things that must be decided by the courts and other people. I hope he takes his time in coming back and gets things taken care of before playing competitive golf again. I think it would be in his best interest to take his time and get it done right. Rushing back will not help him or his kids or family what is left of it.
